There are multiple ways to get involved with Help Each Other Out…
Create a Campaign
Help Each Other Out turns empathy into action with socially engaged art. In collaboration with nonprofits, artists, HEO volunteers, neighborhood businesses, and organizations, we create public spaces where people share the gestures that worked in getting them through their difficult time.
Are you interested in creating a Being There campaign for your neighborhood or office? If so, check out our guide to learn how. Or contact us to help you install an exhibit in your office place or neighborhood.

Bring Empathy to Work
The work place is where most of us spend our days. Growing research finds engagement brought about with positive work culture matters more than flex-time and salary for job productivity. What’s more, that positive work cultures lead to retention and overall employee wellness. Among six elements identified by compassion experts for positive work culture are these top two:
- Caring for, being interested in, and maintaining responsibility for colleagues as friends.
- Providing support for one another, including offering kindness and compassion when others are struggling.
You don’t have to have a PhD to know that a workplace that cares and supports you during times of personal trial inspires loyalty, trust, and creativity. But for the scientifically inclined among you, see this useful review of the research by Dr Emma Sappela and Dr. Kim Cameron in the Harvard Business Review.
